Drag Queen BINGO - One of my Favorite Things

I know the first thing that pops into peoples heads when they read that is  "WHAT!?!?"  Well let me explain.
Drag Queen BINGO (DQB) is one of my favorite new things to participate in.  Every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month (with the exception of this month due to the holiday) Outward Magazine hosts "Drag Queen BINGO" at Hamburger Patties (formerly Hamburger Mary's) on 17th and J street.  Not only is there tons of fun with funny "callbacks", Drag Queens as callers, and great prizes, but every time they have DQB they raise money for a different local charity.  Each week they raise at least $1,000 for the charity of the evening, sometimes raising over $2,000.  Tonight's charity is WEAVE and they are not only accepting the standard donations, but they are also collecting toys for children who are victims of abuse.
Come out tonight if you can for great food and fun!

Here is a picture I came across from a past edition of Outward Magazine with a picture of a my friend Cristina and I.

Randomness

The other night I stayed up all night to watch it snow in "The Valley".  I was so excited that we actually got snow where I live.  Even though that only happened the one night, I still like to pretend it happens every morning.  So when I get up to go to work I like the fact that there is frost everywhere.  It plays into my fantasy that I live somewhere it snows.

One of my favorite things...

SNOW!

Normally you have to go North to play in the snow but tonight, or should I say this morning, I got a special treat...Snow in Sacramento!!  You can not even imagine how happy this made me!  I love the snow but rarely get to see it, so the fact that it snowed in my hometown is like an early Christmas present for me!  Ahh....now I hope I can get to sleep sometime soon so I can get up for work in 3 hours....I'm like a kid that can't sleep on Christmas Eve because I wanna see Santa....

Really? Again?

Once again my office is talking about food and alcohol.  No surprise.
Today the staff got together in an impromptu meeting to discuss our Deputy Director leaving the office.  He has stated that he doesn't want anything done for him, but would my co-workers pass up the opportunity to have a pot-luck and stuff their faces?!?!  Heck no!  So they have decided to throw him a "surprise pot-luck going-away party"  Here is just a sampling of the correspondence that I have been receiving all morning from my co-workers.

Yum, are you bringing the ouzo too?

It's just a matter of time before all conversations in this office include food and alcohol.
Oh and by the way, I am the one in charge of refreshments...they are all going to be disappointed when I show up with soda.  haha
